Osama Amir Fadhel from the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology highlighted that EDB, along with other national financial institutions, contributed AED 5.3 billion in financing to industrial companies last year, with 90% benefiting SMEs. These efforts, in collaboration with strategic partners, contributed to the success of the Make it in the Emirates initiative, boosting investments and increasing the industrial sector’s GDP contribution in 2023.

Ahmed Mohamed Al Naqbi, CEO of EDB, emphasized the importance of collaboration across government, the private sector, and financial institutions. Discussions during the event delved into strategic investments, renewable energy, and SME empowerment, offering insights into the complex economic dynamics shaping Abu Dhabi's future.

The day’s agenda explored how strategic investments and innovative financing play a pivotal role in Abu Dhabi's economic transformation. As the UAE capital diversifies away from oil, forums like EDB Connect underline efforts to foster an innovation-driven economy.

EDB's initiatives to provide competitive, flexible, and inclusive financing, support SME growth, and focus on priority sectors were central themes. The event included panels addressing strategic investment potential, manufacturing excellence, sustainability in renewables, and innovation in healthcare and technology.

The forum recognized EDB's pivotal role in shaping Abu Dhabi’s new economic narrative. Through its support for SMEs, commitment to sustainable practices, and empowerment of key sectors, EDB is a critical player in Abu Dhabi’s journey towards becoming a global hub for innovation and sustainability.

With a welcome address from CEO Ahmed Al Naqbi, the event showcased collaboration and partnership as essential elements for Abu Dhabi's economic progress. EDB, as a partner, focuses on critical sectors for the nation's future, achieving remarkable milestones through collaborative efforts.

The event also featured a Partners Award Ceremony, acknowledging key stakeholders and strategic partners contributing to Abu Dhabi's economic goals. Exhibition pods for partners, including KEZAD, ADRO, ECI, Masdar, and Elite Agro, were notable features.
