MSI Cohort 8 is specially designed for the youth and startups developing trailblazing ideas to tackle the pressing issue of climate change. With the UAE aiming for 'Net Zero' emissions by 2050 and hosting COP28 this year, the relevance of this challenge is underscored.
The eighth cohort is keen on exploring innovative answers to questions like involving the youth in climate change advocacy, supporting businesses offering eco-friendly products and services, utilizing emerging technologies to empower youth for effective climate action, and identifying promising solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The MSI program offers a range of benefits, including workshops, training, mentorship, coaching, market and network access, investor access, office space, funding, and post-program support. Eligibility criteria stipulate that applicants should be UAE-based entrepreneurs working on innovative and scalable solutions to climate change, with a founding team of 2+ members, at least one of whom is aged 18-35. Additionally, startups must have validated business models and early traction and be willing to register legally in Abu Dhabi.
The journey for the chosen entrepreneurs will kick-off with application and selection, followed by an information session, shortlisting, online pitch day, and final startup selection announcement. The selected startups will then embark on the training and mentorship program from September 5 to November 30, 2023, with post-program support extending until December 29, 2023.
