Microsoft and G42 have announced the launch of two new centres in Abu Dhabi to promote Responsible AI practices. This initiative is part of their ongoing partnership and is endorsed by the UAE's Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Technology Council (AIATC).

The first centre will focus on developing and promoting Responsible AI standards across the Middle East and Global South. It will bring together academic researchers and industry experts to share best practices and drive innovation in AI. The second centre, an expansion of Microsoft’s AI for Good Lab, will support AI projects targeting societal challenges, particularly in food security, climate resilience, and language diversity.

These centres underscore Microsoft and G42’s commitment to ensuring AI is used safely and responsibly, solidifying Abu Dhabi’s role as a global AI hub. Both companies will work with AIATC to enhance the region’s AI and technology landscape, setting new benchmarks for AI's safe and secure use.

Leaders from both organisations highlighted the importance of the initiative. Brad Smith, Microsoft's Vice Chair and President, emphasized that the collaboration would enhance the safe use of AI, while Peng Xiao, G42’s CEO, highlighted the initiative's potential to position Abu Dhabi as a leader in global AI innovation.
