The MENA E-commerce Community marked its first anniversary this week with a diverse and inclusive celebration. The event showcased the community's remarkable journey in supporting regional businesses, from large corporations to small marketing sites, providing a 360-degree view of the region's e-commerce state. The anniversary celebration, with over 123 registrations and 60 offline participants, was a testament to the community's impact, uniting manufacturers, D2C brands, and marketplace sellers in a shared vision for the future.
The MENA community was glad to have Arsenii Ivanov, Client Partner, eCom & Tech, TikTok MENA, as a participant. His insights and advice on the leading TikTok instruments for e-commerce players in the region demonstrated the practical value of the community's events and insights. Mariyam Lahlou, a Sales Manager at Dubai CommerceCity, a part of the Dubai Government and the UAE Digital Economy Strategy joint venture with Dubai Airport Freezone and Wasl under the leadership of H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, also joined the celebrations, discussing cutting-edge digital commerce and innovative digital solutions. Topics included the best approach to distribution in digital sales channels, fundamental analysis, omnichannel, and "closed" sales channels. The event further explored the future of FashionTech, including the development of AI services for fashion e-commerce and the impact of AI on design and shopping.
Another format of the event was business case analyses for the participants. This time, Andreea Rizan and Samuel Adex, co-founders of Casa Di Andi, a furniture shop in Dubai, discussed their business, sharing practical insights and strategies that all participants could reflect on during the discussion in their projects. This session provided a unique opportunity for participants to learn from real business cases and apply these learnings to their own projects.
"The MENA E-commerce Community is all about collaboration and problem-solving," said Anton Niekhaienko, Chief Operating Officer & CoFounder, Digital Distributor at Yalla!Hub. "Our platform allows members to share business challenges and goals, and we work with them to create tailored plans for success. We understand this as YallaHub has achieved three years in the UAE with our YallaMarket goods delivery service and $15 million in investments. High visibility and a diversified approach are key to success in this industry."
Since its start, the community has hosted five offline gatherings, attracting up to 250 participants and featuring over 25 industry professionals who shared their expertise. Practically speaking, it empowers businesses to scale, stay informed, and connect with like-minded professionals through engaging events, industry insights, and a vibrant online network. Additionally, the MENA E-commerce Community works closely with government agencies to further highlight the vast potential of e-commerce across the Middle East.
